Robin Trower Live 1975 Stockholm, Sweden
Photos by Hans Ivarsson, Copyright Reserved.
These photos are from the 1975 Stockholm
concert became the Robin Trower Live album. Hans: "...what
became the live album wasn´t intended to be one from the start.
When Trower heard the tape he was very pleased with the sound and
the spark the concert had, so pleased that it was decided that
Robin Trower should record a live album in Stocholms Konserthus.
I got hold of a ticket to what was gonna be a non admission
concert but I just never happened and so it was decided that the
radiobroadcast would be the Live album."
Hans: "I think the album is great but the actual song order is changed and the concert cut short by two songs, Bridge Of Sighs and Day Of the Eagle don't appear on neither the vinyl nor the cd, it was a little dissapointing that the songs mentioned didn't appear on the BGO cd release but what can you do. The prints... are from from colourslides I took, I also took black & white photos."
The song order from the note that Hans
Ivarsson made at the time is: 1. Day Of The Eagle, 2. Bridge Of Sighs, 3. Gonna Be More Suspicious, 4. Fine Day, 5. Lady Love, 6. Daydream, 7. Too Rolling Stoned, 8. I Can´t Wait Much Longer, 9. Alethea, 10. Little Bit Of Sympathy. |

Question:
Gary Larson: What type of film did you use and how did you
develop and process the film?
Answer:
Hans Ivarsson: "...I used a special developer for the b/w
films. From what I know you can use the T-Max ? film and
developer and even underexpose and overdevelope it much more,
think 25000 ASA was the limit. I haven't used the T-Max film and
that's why I'm a little uncertain if the name is T-Max. It's said
to have finer grain then the Tri-X but as I said I haven't used
it myself. There's also some colour slide films on the market
that are supposed to be very good. I quit using the colour film
at the end of the 70's because I had to use so much equipment to
be able to "shoot" both that and b/w. The b/w I
developed myself and I also made the prints, that gave me more
control over the final result so to speak and to a much lower
cost. Today I'm glad I did use colour film because of the
possibilities the pc gives with the photoprogrammes but who
could've forseen all that 20 to 25 years ago. Here are some data
about the photos. The b/w photos are taken with Tri-X film
stressed to 3200 ASA, the colour photos are taken with Ektachrome
HS film stressed to either 800 or 1200 ASA, I can't really
remember. The when and where you got on the concert ticket scan,
except the photo of Bill Lordan, that's "shot" friday
the 4:th of June 1976. I've used Mamiya Spotmatic cameras, 200
and 135 mm tele lenses. Hope you find the data useful."
Special thanks to Hans Ivarsson for sharing his photos and story.
