Here are a few responses from fans at Robin's
1998 shows:
- Gary LeBlanc: April 21, 1998 Texas Club,
Baton Rouge, Louisiana "I caught Robin live Tuesday
night at the Texas Club in Baton Rouge. WOW what a show.
Trower was better than I ever remember him (if that is
posable) just proves like you said that the really great
ones only get better with age.He left me wanting more but
in total awe. I havent seen someone smoke a guitar like
that since Stevie Ray.He smoked thru about 15 songs never
missing lick and looked as if he enjoyed it as much as
me. Keep up the good work and long live Trower!!!
- Jack: April 25, 1998 The Roxy Theatre, Atlanta, Georgia
"I saw him last night in Atlanta, he sure was
good!"
- "Carlos: about the April 30 1998
Tramps, NY show: "Great show!"
- Phil Fumo: May 11, 1998 Medina
Entertainment Center, Medina, Minnesota " The show
was excellent !!! The tone coming from those amps was
deafening, just full and fat as hell!! He was using Three
brown Marshall 4X12's, one marshall 800 series Top, and
two Fender Blues or Hot Rod DeVilles. Each Fender amp was
stacked on top of the two outer Marshall 4X12"s and
the Marshall was on the third cabinet in the middle. A
very nice set-up!......He was simply Awesome that night,
just blew us away. I saw him a long time ago with the
original band back in Milwaukee at SomerFest, he had the
same brown Marshall's ( two full stacks at the show )....
just rocked the place down !!!"
- Mike M. writes: "The man has still
got it. (May 15, 1998) Mississippi nights in St Louis, MO
was sold out and ready to rock and robin did not
disapoint"
- Mikelind: May 26 1998 Warfield, San
Francisco, California "just home from s.f....to say
he's still got it would be, in my opinion, and from
overheard comments, a very modest statement...clear,
concise, masterful....a man who obviously enjoys what
he's about and really does appreciate his fans...you get
what you give?"
- Rhonda L: May 31 1998 Coach House, San
Juan Capistrano, California "Better than last year.
Best performace by Robin Trower I have seen!"
