If you see the uncut scenes from part two, you will see a scene in there
where Leatherface, the Cook, and Chop Top are all in the meat truck.
Recently, I heard that Tobe Hooper always meant it to be explained, that
Chop Top and the Hitchhiker are twin brothers. That's why they have
birthmarks on opposite sides of their faces. In this cut scene, Chop Top
is sewing Nubbins head together after it had been shot in half by the
guys they sawed to death in the beginning. The Cook is yelling at
Leatherface and Chop Top, "I told you boys not to take
your brother with you. See what happens!?" Then my Friend Cereal
Killer called me and we chatted about the fact that Nubbins might be the dead
Hitchhiker from part one. That could be why Chop Top and Nubbins are so
close. That could be why Chop Top speaks for Nubbins as well. There's a
special bond, so people say, between twins. Chop top takes Nubbins
everywhere and takes care of him as if he was alive. The Cook also
speaks to Nubbins during that scene as if it wasn't Chop Top making the
voice "Shuuuuut Up Nubbbbins!!!"
So it is very possible that Nubbins is the Hitchhiker from part one after
he had been killed by the truck. Thanks to these uncut scenes and a great
