New streetcar route inagurated to allow Port of Toronto redevelopment and expansion. The line was built by the City of Toronto but operated by the Toronto Railway Company. From Queen Street and the East Don Roadway tracks ran south beside the street as far as Eastern Avenue, over a trestle above the Grand Trunk railway tracks, continued on private right of way to Commissioners Street, then west in a centre reservation to Cherry Street. One car provided a daily base service every 15 minutes, with a second car reducing headways to 7 minutes 30 seconds during rush hours.
