One day when Alvin was at school, Dave came to pick him up.  Alvid had lost his new bike
the day before, and Dave was a little upset.
"Alvin!  Why can't you keep track of your things?"
"I don't know!  I was at the store yesterday with Brittany and I went in to get some pop.
We came back out and my bike was gone!"  said Alvin
"This is just great!  You lose your bike, Dave gets mad, and we have to put up with his yelling."
said Simon.
"Look, I'm sorry!  I seriously don't know want happened to it. I just-"
"Stop your exuses!  I am tired of this!  Go to your room."
So Alvin slowly walked up to his room, with a frown on his face.
So, here is Alvin after school waiting for Dave.  He was still really upset about Alvin losing his new
only a week after he got it at his birthday party.
Later, at their house, Dave was talking to Miss Miller. He was trying to decide whether or not to buy Alvin a
new bike, or to make him get a paper route and earn the money to pay for a new bike.
"I just don't know, Miss Miller.  Alvin should have kept better track of his things. On the other hand, if
I had taught him how to take care of his things, and to make sure things don't get stolen." said Dave
"Now you listen, you shouldn't blame yourself for what Alvin does."
"I guess, you're right."
Later, Dave asked Alvin to come downstares.
"I have decided to let you get a new bike, but you have to earn the money yourself."
"Allright, I think that is only fair." said Alvin
"Now, we'll go to the Newspaper building tomorow, and talk about you getting yourself
a paper route." said Dave
"Okay, great!" responded Alvin.
"Now, go up to your room and finish your homework."
"Okay, thanks Dave."
