Alvin and the chipmunks were at school one day. Dave was supposed to pick them up at 12:00 to take them on a trip that he had planned to take them on. But, when 12:00 came around he never came to get them. Later, they walked to their house to see if Dave was there, but they found out that he left to Florida to see his mother, because she is dying. So, Alvin came up with this brilliant idea to go get the chipettes and fly all alone to Florida to meet Dave's parents. So they got all the money that they needed to buy six plane tickets and they took off. When they arrived in Florida they had no idea of how to find Dave. So they went all around Florida looking for him. That took them a week. When they finally found Daves' family they found out that Dave had gone back the first day so that he could take them on that trip. Dave finds out that the chipmunks are in Florida and returns with Miss Miller to find the chipmunks and the chipettes. When they reached Florida they already knew where they were because Dave's father had called him to tell them that they were alright and at their house. So, instead of going on their trip they stayed another week in Florida. When they got home Alvin and the chipmunks were in big trouble because they left the school when the Principal told them that they had to stay there and go home with the chipettes.
