This is a picture of a Kaffir Lilly.

CLIVIA miniata; Zones 12-17, 19-24 (I grow it in 9 in shade), Best with no direct sun, regular water. This plant is native to South Africa. And as you can see in the picture has a beautiful orange colored flower. This plant has green strap-shaped, 1 1/2' long leaves. It blooms December-April; most bloom March through April. Unfortunately the snails love them. But the way I look at it. You have to make everyone in the garden happy.

This is a picture of "Carrie", A statue in my yard. The mold for Carrie was found after the fires in the foothills, then restored. She is aproximatly 50 years old, and a favorite part of my yard. At her feet is v. major, Vinca;PERIWINKLE, MYTRLE. Long trailing stems with green or varigated leaves. Dark purple flowers. Grows to 6-12" tall possible 2' tall. Tough plant, quite easy to grow. Takes sun if watered generously. As ground cover trim close to ground occasionally to encourage new growth.

I love this section of my yard, The red maple in forground sets a beautiful stage for the different colors of camilias, ferns, and azaleas in this area.

More of the same, but you can really see why I like this part of my yard. The red maple is actually green in this picture. Red maples need sun to turn red, otherwise they are just green.

This is my scatter garden. Every year I plant different seeds in this area, some in this picture are Lady in red Salvia, batchlor buttons, a white rose, and some begonias.
