Courteney Cox
Courteney Bass Cox was born in Birmingham Alabama on June 15th, 1964. She is the youngest of four siblings.
Her parents names are Courteney Copeland and Richard Cox. They divorced when Courteney was very young and she gained 8 step-siblings. She was still the youngest.
When Courteney, or Cece to family and friends, was 14 years old she got her first job, and saved up enough money to buy a car when she turned 16, even though she says, she learned
to drive around 10.
When Courteney was 18 she moved away and attended college in Washington, she dropped out when she got a job with the Ford Modeling Agency in NYC.
At this time she was dating her step-cousin, Ian. (He urged her to move to NY, for a career in entertainment.)
Courteney soon earned a three day role on "As The World Turns." And various other small roles in different things.
But it wasn't until 1983 when she got her "break." She was the girl that Bruce Springsteen grabbed up on to stage in his Dancing in the Dark video.
"I didnt know that I would have to dance in it. I got there and they go, 'dance' and I had no idea how to dance,
so I just moved around like I did in the video, and they loved it, it was so great to work with Bruce. We're still friends, I've always been a fan too," says Courteney.
Courteney began dating Michael Keaton, this lasted 6 years. In the late 80s Courteney got her role of Lauren, on the hit TV show, Family Ties (which made Michael J Fox famous). When the show went off in 1990, Courteney did various movies, all of
which flopped, except one, the hugely successful Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which boosted her career as well as Jim Carrey's into stardom. This came out in 1994.
Courteney's next audition was for a TV Show called "Six of One" she was called in to audition for the role of RACHEL GREEN, because she was so pretty, but
Courteney thought that she felt a much bigger connection with the other beauty, MONICA GELLER, so she switched auditions with Jennifer Aniston, and won MONICA.
The show premiered with a new name, "Friends Like Us", and was an instant hit. The name was then changed to simply, "FRIENDS" and the entire cast became HUGELY famous.
Since Courteney was already famous she recieved more pay than the rest of the cast, and still does (instead of 100 thousand a week she gets 110.)
Courteney's recent film projects have been, Commandments, and the HUGELY SUCCESSFUL horror flicks, SCREAM and SCREAM 2. (SCREAM was the THIRD biggest horror movie ever made!)
Courteney is currently dating her SCREAM costar, David Arquette.
She will star in the upcoming, SCREAM 3 with David also.
