Midnight Moon

I knew of a girl from Saskatoon
She rode a horse called Midnight Moon
She rode him in the dark of night
In the field and out of sight
They'd depart as the sun would rise
But always return with the darken'd skies
I know it's true, I've seen her ride
She's dressed in white, just like a bride
I pulled into a nearby farm
Thinking it could do no harm
I had to know 'bout the girl in white
Who galloped a horse in the dark of night
A frail old man invited me in
When I asked of the girl, he said, it's a sin
She was to be wed forty years ago today
A twister came up and carried them away
Her and the horse she was riding to church
Her husband-to-be led a hundred-man search
He believed that she'd be found alive
Then one night he was taking a drive
He saw his bride galloping by
The man sat down and started to cry
He finally knew that she had died
And would forever take the midnight ride.
