photograph

A life ends, while a newborn baby cries down the hall

A candle's flame dies out, no more wick to burn

Tears fall from your eyes and fall to the ground

Only to give life to a baby plant

Holding onto my photographs of you, I remember a time

I remember you smileing, by my side

I remember you laughing, and making me laugh, too

All I see is you smileing

Holding onto my memorys of you, I see you fade

I stand by your bed as you fight to breath

You fight for life, trying to hold on

Hold on to one last shread of hope

I stood there as you said farewell to your love

As she went to Heaven to be with Jesus

And now I stand here saying farewell to you

Holding your hand as you, too, go to see Jesus

Farewell, goodnight, last one out, turn out the light

I sit here trying not to cry, pondering my time

My short, short time I shared with you on this earth

But looking forward to sharing eternity in Heaven with you

So chin up, don't cry, never say goodbye

You'll be alright, don't you worry, I'll be there soon

I'll be here a short time longer, than I'll be with you

And you'll be smileing as I remember you, and we'll be happy together, forever
