THE DAY THE GRINCH ALMOST STOLE SUMMER AT MOON LAKE

Was the day before opening of the Pool at Moon Lake, and it was surely going to be one a piece of cake. The chlorine was added, the chemicals poured the tables and chairs came out from where they were stored. The diving boards springy, the water was clear, so the director and lifeguard said, "nothing to fear."

But up on the campgrounds was a Grinch-filled with glee "they think they will open but just wait and see." "Cause there's horples and scorples and porples galore, there's filters and gilters and hilters and more." "I'll break one of those but which shall I choose, ah-ha...the filter, I have nothing to loose."

Well the day finally ended and darkness...it fell. To the pool went the Grinch, he did his work well. He scrunched up the hoses and gages he broke, to him it was easy, just one great big joke. He twisted the hirtles and girtles and more. The pinions annd ginions, they went on the floor.

Well the people in Whoville and Nanticoke too, they heard of this happening their anger...it grew. They called on their phones and said "tell us the truth, will the pool finally open on July the tooth?"Well the kiddies from whoville and Glen Lyon too, they stood around crying with a big boo hoo hoo.

The director at Moon Lake Ms. May is her name, "the Grinch will not stop us, cause this is a shame." From morning till night she talked on the phone, it was one thing certain, she was not alone. There were commissioners, stisheners, the chief clerk too, engineers, bendyourears by the legions they grew.

Well the Grinch..he just stood there, he knew he was beat his head hanging clear down to his feet. So he unscrewed the hoses put the gages in place. He had to do this, he had to save face. He untied the hurtles, the girtles and more, he picked up the pinions and ginions off of the floor. The horples and scorples and porples he found, they were easy to find...they were all on the ground. The filters and gilters were again in their right place, the Grinch...he finally saved his very long face.

Now the kids down in Whoville and Shickshinny too, can swim in the pool like they used to do. Now our phones are still ringing but we tell them the truth, yes, we will finally open on July the tooth.
