Now for the last part. Making it unique. There are a few things you can do.

1. set up text
2. separate text
3. adding graphics
3. separate tables

1. SETTING UP THE TEXT
In the basic sidebar the text is black links are blue and visited links are red. You can change these to match your background.

You may want to move the text to the center. You may do this by using the <center> tag after the <td> tag. It would look like this...

I have also added extra spaces between the links. Changing the text size is also an option. Do this by adding a font size=# after the <td> tag. There are many other things you can do such as bolding the links.

2.SEPARATING THE TEXT
The most common ways are to use spaces or a line. The line can be done by using a <hr> tag after each link. Here is what lines added would look like...

Another way is to add an image of a line after each link. Don't forget to make it a width of no more then 95. Here is what that would look like...

3. ADDING GRAPHICS
You can get pretty creative placing graphics into your sidebar. One way is to have buttons infront of each text. I used a width of 45 for each image. I dont recomend a width larger then that, unless you have a larger sidebar %. This is what it would look like...

You can also use grahics as text by replacing the text with the image. I used a width of 95 for each image. I dont recomend a width larger then that, unless you have a larger sidebar %. This is what it looks like...

The last, but not least suggestion I have for spiffing up your sidebar is-

SEPARATE TABLES
Using different tables or cell blocks within the sidebar. This is good if you want to make it several colors, add more then one background, or just add an effect. I'm not going to get too much into tables. For more info on them, please see my help page. I will give you a basic set up though. This is separate cell blocks...
