We will tour a few of our projects such as the Forage variety plot, watering systems, sage control, cow supplementation and a few others.

Text Box: Cows for the pasture project went out to pasture on July 8th . The cows and calves were weighed going onto pasture and will be weighed again when they come off. 
This year we will be measuring the differences in grass consumption on the pasture between the two groups. Grass clippings will be taken as the cows go on pasture and when they come off pasture.
The cows are being fed a mixture of rolled corn, pea screenings, calcium, salt, rumensin, beef premix, caText Box: nola oil, and soybean meal. 
These Cattle receive 2 kg/cow / day or 4.4 lbs /cow/day.
We have two groups supplemented and control. 21 cow/calf pairs in each group . These cattle are separated by electric fence with

Text Box: ing their way out of the ground. The alfalfa was the first to show. We didn’t plant these forages until late June early July, so they are a little behind. 

We have received rain at the right time that has helped to keep our perennials from burning up. We now face the battle of trying to control our weed problem in the plot.

We have had rain on our plots which have helped them along their way. 
The SeCan varieties will soon be clipped for data. We will be doing the barley and the canola. The oats and the wheat are not quite ready to be clipped quite yet.
