I use my two Ricohflex's (the VII and Super) for shooting MF stereo slides. I usually try to shoot at f16 or so to have the whole scene in focus. But I have also taken fireworks photos at f8 and gotten excellent results. So they are capable of good results if stopped down a bit.

Like all 3 element lenses the edge sharpness won't match a Tessar (4 element) or Planar (6 element) style lens unless stopped way down.
