Entries for 2001
December,
2001
Ah, December is finally here. I
am excited for a number of reasons. 1) Christmas is approaching.
2) A new and exciting year is approaching. And 3) I get to see Jon again
on the 27th! Seriously, you don't know how hard it is to wait 5-6
months just to SEE your boyfriend again. You really have to
love each other to be able to do that. Luckily we will only have
about 7-8 months or so until we are together all the time. I got
a job at Blockbuster which was totally random and I was hired within 24
hours. I've completed my orientation and training at a Stockton store.
Like everything, it's confusing at first but I'll get the hang of it.
That will keep me busy until Christmas time gets here anyway. I also
volunteered at Micke Grove Zoo for a day as part of a project for my Natural
Recourses class. You can hear about it Here
! Finals are also coming up. I can't believe another semester is
almost over!
December Update:
Christmas went fine. The family got to gether for the usual presents/dinner/spend
the day gathering. I got some nice things, including money which
is needed especially for the future! I was also excited because on
the 26th (Boxing Day) I flew out to meet Jon once again. The flight
went well (NO terrorists!) and I landed safely to a nice sunny day.
His sister Jackie is pregnant and little Bump is due March 8th. We
were able to spend our first anniversary together on 30th December and
it was quite special. I'll continue the rest in January's entry!

Oooh-kay! November flew by so fast
I tell ya! I decided enough time had passed and I needed to get a
job NOW! I applied at Hollywood Video since it seemed the simplest
thing to suit me and free rentals are nice. They were so flaky it
was unbelievable. They postponed my interview a total of 4 times
and there was the whole process of the "Second Interview" with another
manager..blah blah blah. Anyway, I gave up on them. Everyone
said if they're that flaky with the interview process imagine what it's
like working for them! That's that... Oh, I went to CSU Stanislaus
for a "Preview Day" on the 17th and got talking with a guy who studied
at Bristol. Everything is still on track for me to leave next year.
It's so exciting. I also went for a jog with Scott and ended up hurting
my foot and limping around for a week. Thanksgiving went fine.
Most of my family was there and we had a wonderful meal, as expected.
My sister, on the other hand, had an exciting day as well. Her boyfriend
Seeeeeaaaaann proposed to her so now she is engaged and planning a wedding!
(Hopefully for late summer 2002). I will be the Maid of Honor.
Those are the main happenings of the month. December on the other
hand..will be quite different!
October,
2001
Okay, so I realize I haven't written in
a while. You know how it is. Not much is happening this month
technically. We went to Jenn's Birthday/Halloween party dressed as
Dorothy and that was fun. I am continuing to toil over school work
and search for a job. Right now I am applying at Hollywood Video
so hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be an employee. 2 months
to go until I get to see Jon again in England for the Holiday season.
I can't wait! I got to hang out w/ Scott on a Saturday and it was
a toe-tappin' good time. I hope to play "Dance Dance Revolution"
with Steph also to learn the cool new moves to Disney tunes!
That's about as exciting as my life gets for the time-being.
September,
2001
This month has been fairly uneventfull personally,
but VERY eventful as a nation. When I saw those towers collapse,
and then the pentagon too, my jaw just dropped in disbelief time and time
again. On that day I was scheduled to go to CSU Stanislaus to discuss
study abroad options for next year. I did still go but everything
was cancelled to say the least. I still spent the day with Scott
though. Everyone will have horrible images and memories from that
fateful day. Now I just hope we can kick their ass! Anyway,
in other life happenings, I got a job working at Jade Fountain Chinese
restaruant as a waitress. It didn't work out to say the least.
I was expected to learn everything quickly and was getting gipped on tips
as well. It only lasted a total of 4 days but oh well. I gained
some experience and learned what I DON'T prefer to be doing. I even
missed the Grape Festival this year because of work. Oh well..there's
always 2003! School is going ok but I HATE this History paper that
was assigned. 20 pages of pure B.S. That's life!
August,

August...well since Jon left on July 20th
*sob* it was straight back to work for me! I have been working many
hours each week and always overtime. 45-48.5 hours per week we're
talking. But the money is good so I don't mind. A new challenge
presented to me was teaching a 2 week session of swim lessons. For
the first couple days I really didn't know what I was doing or how to handle
the kids but I got through it ok. I'm glad to have the experience
but it's not something I wish to do again. I mean, if I really needed
to I would, but I don't prefer it. It's a very challenging thing
and I prefer lifeguaring is all. I also started my 2nd year of junior
college. It is going ok I suppose. The classes are challenging
but it's not too hard to do well in them. We'll see!
May,
2001
Okay, so it's almost been a year since I've
updated this. You know how life gets! I'll try to recap the
past months' highlights very quickly here: I spent the holidays in Connecticut
with Jon and his family. We also became a couple during that time.
Since then I have been just hanging out and my main focus has been school.
(yeah, I know what you're thinking!) It has been the waiting game
for the past months because I talked my parents into coming to England
with me in June 2001. Now in May, my birthday went fine. Just
had dinner, got together with friends, and even worked part of the day!
The lifeguarding season has begun. In July Jon will come to visit
again as well so there is much fun ahead for the summer. Once I return
from my second journey you can see what I was up to this time! Sorry
about the lack of writing once again!
