Swansea, Wales

On June 1st (Jon's 25th Birthday!) Nigel, Jon and I went to Wales for the day.  Nigel comes from the Swansea area so that's where we went for the day.  First we went to the Gower to see Worms Head...

The Map of Wales.  We were down in South Wales on the coast..Swansea!  We stayed mainly on the Gower Paninsula.

A Group shot with Nigel, Lori, and Jon in the Gower Peninsula!

The Rhossili Downs.  The beach here is gorgeous.  Plus, there are plenty of sheep just roaming around near the walkway.

Worms Head.
The coastas scenery is amazing, and similar to that in Devon.

The sheep started jumping over the wall.  Made me want to go to sleep!  Not all of them made it though.

Next, we went to Caswell Bay to see a different beach.  We each had a crappy lukewarm coffee and had a nice view of the atmosphere.

Finally, we spent most of our day in Mumbles.  This is Patrick's, Nigel's favorite restaurant here.  We managed to get in for lunch even though they were booked up for the day.  I had some lovely sea bass...yum!

Mumbles has a pier, but also an old abandoned castle!  It only cost £1 to get in so we had a look around.

I found this dog sign amusing.  It looks like a little man crouching down!

Here I am in Wales!  I've got my merchandise and the flag is flying proudly above my head.  "CYMRU AM BYTH!" (Wales Forever!)

An overview of Mumbles from the top of the castle.  It's a small seaside town but also a holiday destination.  Oh yeah, if you ever make the trip, go to Joe's for an ice cream.  It's homemade and they'll dip in in sprinkles or toppings, yum!

Nigel hanging out at the top!

Another extended arm shot of the three of us with Swansea Bay in the background.

The park surrounding Oystermouth Castle.  It's a great place for a picnic!

To round out the day we went into Swansea to see the Marina.
Nigel's dream boat is within this picture.  It's the one with the BBQ out back!
What a great day out!
