Doesn't it seem like almost everyone in Salem works or has a reason to be at the hospital?? Well keep reading to find out some info about it, the people who work there and some other stuff you probably never knew! P.S check out the hot picture of the new chief of staff and his wife, pictured above.
Salem U is part of the "University Hospital Medical Center" and it includes many different departments and facilities. The phone number is 636-555-4000. Tom Horton was once Chief of Staff here and all of the other Horton Doctors have worked here as well. Mike is currently Chief of Staff. It includes the University Hospital Trauma Center where Carly once worked. Numerous teens have worked in the hospital as candy stripers through the years, including Jennifer, Melissa, Sami, Eve, Jamie and Carrie. An outgrowth of this hospital was the Emergency Center where Kayla used to work. Marlena's office is also here. Her patient line is 636-555-6704. There is a park across the street from the hospital. In July 1994, Tony donated money for a new wing of the hospital, The Tom Horton Youth Centre. The Mental Health Clinic is another part of the hospital, where Jonah and Lexie worked together during 1994. It operates between 8am to 5pm. It's located in room 240 in the hospital complex. In 1994, the hospital administrator was named Radge Packstone. Kristen's OB/GYN during 1994 was Dr. Karen Bader, who had an office at UH. Her phone number was 555-7000, ext. 083. She's the doctor Kristen talked to about birth-control, as she wasn't sure she wanted to have kids with Tony just yet. In late 1994, Dr. Bader was Vivian's doctor as well, when she she was pregnant with Phillip. The woman doctor popped up again when Billie was pregnant in 1998. Room 241 is the Fertility Clinic, where Dr. Ronald Layton works. He's the man who helped with Kate and Vivian's in-vitro in 1994.
Dr. Michael William Hortan Ex-C.O.S. (Currently visiting his son in Israel):
Mike Horton has taken up the family tradition of medicine, following in his grandfather's steps.He became a doctor and was a resident at University Hospital in Salem before becoming Chief of Staff. The race for Chief of Staff wasn't a friendly battle. Mike's archrival and opponent, Craig Wesley, and his wife, Nancy, conspired to keep Mike out of the race.
Caroline Anna Brady, director of P.R.:
After being the vice president of Titan Publishing Carrie became the Public Relations Director for University Hospital. She has worked closely with the Chief of Staff, Dr. Mike Horton. She recently resingened from her posistion due to a hospital scandel. She then Unresingened.
Dr. Alexandra Dimera-Carver:
Lexie, a former police woman began working at the hospital shortly after being kicked off the force. She's now on the medical staff of University Hospital. Lexie was the doctor on call the night Roberto confessed to Franco Kelly's murder.
Nurse Alison McIntyre (Currently in a mental home):
Ali fell for Mike Horton and lied and manipulated to make herself more desierable to him. When she was nominated to replace the head nurse at University Hospital some people, namely Carrie, were concerned that she was using Mike to climb up the professional ladder. She did not get the position though. She is now filed a law suit against Mike for sexual harassment. Her final scenes take place when she tries to kill herself and Mike. She is to be arrested but the DA states that she needs psychological attention and tells her mother to bring to a back to New York to the mental home.
Dr and Mrs Chief of Staff- Craig and Nancy Wesley:
Craig Wesley is an old medical rival of Mike, who Mike and Carrie ran into at a Los Angeles medical conference. Craig and his wife Nancy came to Salem during the campaign of Chief of Staff, a race which Craig ultimately lost to Mike Horton. They feel it's Ali's duty to sue Mike for sexual harassment. Of course, Craig and Nancy are well aware that if Mike is thrown out in the street, Craig will be the next Chief of Staff at University Hospital. This devious couple isn't done with Mike yet and they have succeeded in their little scheme. Will they be exposed?
Dr. Laura Spencer-Horton:
Laura arrived in Salem as a psychiatric intern. She later became a shrink along with Marlena Evans
Dr. Marlena Evans Craig Brady:
Marlena Evans became a psychiatrist at University hospital since long ago, dating back to before Roman/John came to the hospital wrapped in bandages. We haven't seen her go to work many times since. Now that Marlena is finally back at work she has taken up a new radio show. Coincedentally at the same time a woman who looks frighteningly similar to Marlena has come to town with an evil plot to destroy Dr Marlena Evans Black. Can we say deja-vu?
Dr. Brandon Walker:
Brandon is a new doctor at Salem U hospital as well as an altogether new resident to Salem. He is working as a pediatric psych, and is very good at it too.
