T E K K E N   3 -   L A W   T I P S

Forest Law has blazing speed which leads to high damage juggles. One of the best offensive characters in the game, Law also has an effective defense game. Parries and Reversals allow him to break attacks, while the somersault variations create combo possibilities at almost any juncture. Completely balanced at both ends of the spectrum, Law is almost unstoppable if used correctly.

Dragon Storm & Junkyard Kick

These two rushes are the most important juggle starters and continuers. Use the Junkyard Kick (b+2,1,2) to nick the opponent, since most people won't block the middle low kick. These attacks only juggle on a counterhit, and the Dragon Storm (b+1,2,1) will leave you vulnerable if blocked. Try using the Supercharger so ensure a counterhit.

Slide Kick & Somersault Kick

The slide kick (FC,d/f,d,d/f+3) is invaluable since it is so fast. Most people will fail to block this. Plus you can tack on a free low kick afterwards since Law recovers faster from the move. There are many, many variations of the somersault kicks, including some fakes. Use the high kick to somersault (3,4) to connect whenever an attack is blocked (i.e. Paul's Falling Leaf). This is a true combo and can be used to juggle opponents. Also useful is the low kick to somersault (d+2,3). If the low kick connects on a counterhit, it becomes a true combo, and you can add the Junkyard Kick for more hits.

Dragon Whip to Elbow Spring Kick

While more useful in a combo, I like to use this setup to confuse the opponent once in a while. Use the Dragon Whip (db+2) to turn around, then mix up the Spring Kick (4) and a regular punch that will whip the opponent around if it connects. The opponent can dodge the punch by ducking, but the Spring Kick will punish them if they duck.

Defense Moves

The Poison Arrow (b+2,1) is a power move is extremely short range but high damage. Though the range is about 1 cm, it can surprise attackers who rush in only to be blown backwards. Law has mid and low parries, as well as a highly useful punch reversal (B+1+2). If he misses with the reversal, he will be vulnerable for a few seconds. However Law can bust out the Fake Step Below (1) after an unsuccessful Fake Step to smack the opponent. If it connects, Law can press (1) to turn his opponent around, or (2) and (4).
