Paul's power game can rip an opponent to shreds. His moves are all extremely damaging and easy to execute. A lack of a low parry hurts, but Paul does have an attack reversal. Overall, Paul can be learned quickly, though a limited number of moves reduces opportunities.

Phoenix Smasher

The Phoenix Smasher is Paul's best move, and can easily turn the tide in a tight game. It does huge damage and doesn't leave Paul vulnerable in the least if blocked. It covers an insane amount of ground and it extremely quick. If it connects on a major counterhit, it can do about 50% damage! It also allows Paul to run up an perform an unblockable shoulder charge if you roll.

Hammer Variations

The hammer move opens up a world of possibilities for Paul. He can go to the powerpunch (2), or to a falling leaf combo (4,2). He can also tick with LP or RP, or attempt to juggle with a kick. The hammer also hits grounded opponents and can be repeated until the opponent figures out how to get off the ground.

Defensive Strategies

Though Paul's attack reversal is not considered to be among the best, it is still adequate in reversing mid/high attacks. By warying of the "Chicken" attack reversal reversal. By retreating a step and busting loose the unblockable, Paul can surprise people whose only choice is to sidestep. Since the unblockable can "track" for a short radius, it still has a good chance of hitting them, unless they sidestep too far away.

Other offensive techniques

The Sway (d,db,B) is another important move that allows Paul to retreat and avoid moves. He can then perform a number of offensive counterattacks. The God Hammer Punch (d,db,B *2) is a master counter, which bounces the opponent high into the air. By Swaying to avoid an attack, it opens up the possibility for a master counterhit. The best new move that Paul has is the Shoulder Tackle (F+1+4). This move renders sidestepping opponents useless, as Paul will slam into them with this move.
