Climate

The of Hellas is almost the same as the other mediterranean countries.In the lowlands the summer weather is hot and dry with clear and cloudless skies.
The winters are rainy.
The areas with mountains are much cooler, with considerable rain in the summer months.
In the lowlands frost and snow is very rare.
But during the winter the mountains are covered with snow .Rainfall varies greatly from region to region.
Thessaly has 38 mm (1.5 inches) of rainfall a year even less.The western coast receive about 1270mm (about 50 inches).
in Athens the annual temperature is 17 degrees celcius (about 63 degrees f) ;
the extremes range from a normallow of -0.6 degrees celcius (31 degrees f)
in January to the normal high of 37.2 degrees celcius (99 degrees f) in July.

The money in greece is called drachmas. the currency is 233 drachmas is equal to 1$ u.s: in the year 1995.
there are 2 main banks in Greece.
the National Bank of Greece with about 470 domestic branches.
the other is the Agricultural Bank of Greece which has only 420 branches.
