Oh, I have found a new joy since meeting you
Go back to poetry page.
One that brings a bit of calm to a nervous heart
A heart that feels a fear of an empty existence
You bring hope that this fear may not come to be reality
Perhaps we may never meet
Or maybe fate will shine upon us
But you have already occupied a space in my heart
For you are one I will never forget
Perhaps one day, we will meet on our beach
The deep, blue-green ocean floating on sand
The sun, hanging low in the darkening sky
Blazing orange and red across the horizon
Where the giant star dips into the water
A sensational sight appears
The colors meshing sends an emotional wave through our souls
"The voice of the sea is seductive, never ceasing, whispering, clamoring, murmuring
Inviting the soul to wander for a spell in abysses of solitude
To lose itself in mazes of inward contemplation
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul
The touch of the sea is sensuous
Enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace" *
But the most precious feeling is the feel of your hand within my own
The warmth from your hand creeps into the coldest crevace of my soul
In your touch I feel the romance and compassion from deep within your being
The attention and care you extend over me
Shows the true value of your friendship and affection
That I proudly display
I just wish I could sit on our beach with you
Sitting in front of you, looking deep into your eyes
Those windows into that soul that mystifies me so
I take my left hand to embrace your left hand
Caressing the back of it with my thumb
Not losing my concentrationof your eyes even for the briefest moment
I reach my right hand to your beautiful face
I lay my palm gently across your cheek
The feel of your soft, creamy skin sends shivers into my spine
Your features seem so flawless and perfect to me
Your eyes glimmering back at me
Your hair carefree and draping down about your forehead and shoulders
Your full, pinkish lips call out to be touched
I run my fingers carefully across them
They are so soft, so succulent
I lean forward and press my own against them
A kind, tender kiss I pass upon them
I sit back, my gaze still fixed upon you
I brush the hair back from your face
And slowly run my fingers through your gorgeous locks
Mapping each inch of your scalp
I pull your face to mine, and my lips close to your ears
"You will never realize how beautiful you are to me
Or how you thrill me so
But, I want you to always know
My lonely heart you have stole"
The words whispered upon my warm breath
And again I sit back, just enjoying this time we have
It may not be long, or may never end
So take joy in what we have
Knowing that the Maker has placed our lives together
Perhaps for just a stitch in time
He had a reason in mind when He placed our beaches adjoining to each other
God never meant for our beaches to be lonely
At least not all the time
He wants us to wait, patiently, cautiously
Wait for the one He chooses
At certain times, He has to place those little reminders in our lives
They prompt us to remember that there is that Someone out there
Whether you are mine, or not
I know that I got to share my beach with you
And a little piece of my soul.
