List of Middleweight Fighters

Here is a list of the best middleweight fighters in the NHL. I love watching these guys throw 'em because they throw a ton of punches and there isn't much wrestling involved. These guys can also play the game. I am not gonna rank them because it is hard to rank a middleweight. Below you will find a list of the ten best middleweights in no particular order. Once again, the list will change every now and then and comments are always welcome.

SCOTT WALKER

Vancouver Canucks

5'10, 180 pounds Last Season's Stats 64 games, 3 goals, 15 assists, 18 points, 132 PIMS

Feisty little scrapper. Will take on heavies but will lose pretty badly. Little bulldog loves the physical play and is a hustler, giving %110 every shift he is out there. Had a great fight with Mike Keane this year and had that little fued with Michael Petit.

MATTHEW BARNABY

Buffalo Sabres

6'0, 190 pounds Last Season Stats 68 games, 19 goals, 24 assists, 43 points, 249 PIMS

Known as "Bam Bam", Barnaby is knows as the biggest pest in the NHL and I agree. I love to watch this guy get under the skin opposing teams and throw them off their games by taking dumb penalties. Will fight often but rarely wins.

ROB DIMAIO

Boston Bruins

5'10, 190 pounds Last Season's Stats 72 games, 13 goals, 15 assists, 28 points, 82 PIMS

Rob doesn't fight much but he is very strong when he does. He can surprise alot of people with his toughness because he don't look like much. Surprised alot of people last year when he was one of the few that defeated Paul Laus.

MIKE KEANE

Dallas Stars

5'10, 178 pounds Last Season's Stats 81 games, 10 goals, 17 assists, 27 points, 63 PIMS

Don't laugh at this one!! Honestly one of the toughest middleweights. Excellent fighter and can take a punch too. He is a player that every team would love to have. Excellent face-off man, great checker, hard worker, leader and good fighter. Great fight with Scott Walker this year.

WENDEL CLARK

Toronto Maple Leafs

5'11, 194 pounds Last Season's Stats 65 games, 30 goals, 19 assists,49 points, 75 PIMS

One of the few lightweights that can handle the big boys. Has a cement head and can take alot of punishment but he can dish it out as well. Doesn't fight much anymore because he is gettin a bit old, but he still plays the style of hockey that make Wendal a fan favorite. Has probably the best wrist shot in the game as he scored 46 goals one year.

SHANE CORSON

Montreal Canadiens

6'0, 201 pounds Last Season's Stats 57 games, 8 goals, 16 assists, 24 points, 104 PIMS

Great fighter but an even better player. He doesn't need to prove himself with his fists because everyone knows that he can toss 'em. Great leader as he shows by example and protects his players. Took on and beat Enricco Chiconne earlier this year after Chiconne layed out Saku Koivu.

TODD HARVEY

New York Rangers

5'11, 199 pounds lasts Season's Stats 71 games, 9 goals, 22 assists, 31 points, 142 PIMS

Only problem with Harvey is that he sometimes bites more than he can chew. Good fighter, but not a heavyweight. He tries to prove himself by scrapping the "big boys" but he usually gets worked pretty good. Harvey, like most other middleweights, is a grinder. He is the one banging and crashing and does it pretty well for his size.

BILL HUARD

Edmonton Oilers

6'1, 215 pounds Last Season's Stats 40 games, 5 goals. 6 assists, 11 points, 105 PIMS Not really sure about him. I have only seen a few fights and he has fared pretty well. Seems to go after the heavyweights too. Had a few fights with Tony Twist in the past few years and hasn't fared that badly. Oilers need a player like him to protect their other players.

BRAD MAY

Vancouver Canucks

6'1, 201 pounds Last Season's Stats 36 games, 4 goals, 7 assists, 11 points, 113 PIMS

Sometimes knows as "May Day" because of the goal he scored in the playoffs a few years ago,was a fan favorite in buffalo and will be one in Vancouver. A ferocious fighter that usually takes on the heavyweights. Doesn't fight as much as he used to as he has become more valuable to his team. May is a tough player, good leader and hard worker, something the Canucks need right about now.

KELLY CHASE

St. Louis Blues

6'0, 200 pounds Last Season's Stats 30 games, 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points, 149 PIMS

Another player I haven't seen to much of, but I know he is always willing to fight. Plays on one of the toughest lines in hockey with Twist and Rudy Poeschek, he is the smallest of the bunch but fights more than the other two. One thing I noticed about Chase is that he is a very smart fighter, meaning he has good technique and he never fights when the time isn't right.

DAVE MANSON

Montreal Canadiens

6'2, 210 pounds Last Season's Stats 75 games, 4 goals, 18 assists, 22 points, 185 PIMS

At one time he was the craziest guy in the NHL. Used to fight all the time and won alot of his fights. He would always go nuts on opponents. Has really settled down in the last few years and has developed into a real solid defenceman. Has one of the hardest shots and is one of the best checkers in the game. Will still fight when the time is right.
