My name is Zelda Elijah. I am the founding member of the
Iroquois Track Club. I have competed in track for many
years and earned many merits of success, one of which
was an athletic scholarship to the University of
Eastern Michigan. I represented my university on the
national level. I no longer compete for a university and
would like to represent Native people. I have always
had a strong identity of my culture and my background.
My culture has always been a driving force that has
allowed me to succeed. I take great pride in my people
and I would like to use my talents to give some of that
pride back to Native people. My goals for the is summer
is to compete at the Canadian National Track and Field
Championships and represent the Iroquois Track club.
