Disclaimer: The MIB is not my creation, nor is the GIB. Any Agents used have been used with approval. Some have simply been made up from my imagination.

There was a leak in the GIB. We found out too late it was an offworlder in Processing. Before we could confront him, he was gone and a swarm of llama troops were busting in ta GIB headquarters! We lost a lot of Agents that night. Good Agents. Some we couldn't even find. Yeah. Now even the GIB has a missing in action list…But we beat back the llama hordes and now, we rebuild. Who are we? We are the Gargoyles In Black. Back, and better than ever.

Someone touched her good wing, caped at her back. She barely noticed but something inside told her to turn around; look away from the destruction around her.

She turned. The MIB Agent Q stared solemnly up at her. They'd come to help fight back the mass attack tonight… Was it just a few hours ago? But they'd come nearly too late.

"….Agent 'G?"

"Yeah." Her voice was coarse, strained. This was her home… her clan. The enemy was defeated but the GIB had been decimated.

"What do you want done with the bodies?"

"Leave them. We'll take care of them." 'We' as in the surviving Gargoyles In Black. That was only a handful. 007, MA, HYBRID, KC, L…. Nineteen so far. The damage to the complex was extensive. Many sections were caved in. Only two of the ten levels of GIB headquarters had been searched. The rest had to be dug out or uncovered. And K, the Head of the GIB, was nowhere to be found. The other Division chiefs were also unaccounted for.

The MIB Agent obviously thought 'G's order was strange but kept quiet. He knew nothing about gargoyle ways, though he knew better than to question.

"Any casualties for the MIB?" 'G asked, focusing on the matters at hand.

"No."

"How many for GIB… so far?"

The graying human eyed the dark green gargoyle with sympathy. "Thirty-two."

A call went up and both Agents looked to the source. A limping Agent HYBRID made an unmistakable gesture.

"Thirty-three…" 'G corrected, her hope falling. Thirty-three found dead in only an hour and a half. No. Stick to what can be done. "The sun's coming up soon. That'll be the best chance those remaining have. Stop all searching then. We don't want to risk crushing any if a wall or ceiling starts to go."

Q nodded once. "Zed has also given us the order to stand guard. With a hundred plus MIB Agents about, you'll be safe."

"Thanks." But 'G didn't feel any safer at that announcement. Nothing like this had ever happened to her before, not even in her own dimension. She vowed that the traitor who'd allowed this would be found and … dealt with.

"I know you were just dug out but can you help, too? That wing--"

"It's fine. I can do whatever needs doing."

To prove it, 'G headed over to MA and three MIB Agents, currently digging out a section of wall and ceiling. She reached for a large hunk of building but paused. Something tickled at her keener-than-average ears. Frowning, she put a staying hand on MA's as the other female was reaching for a chunk of debris. "Wait. I hear something."

MA listened as the three MIB Agents paused in their assistance.

"It's K!" 'G and MA chorused in obvious relief.
