Jeanette's News

August 23rd, 1999 Once again sorry that we took so long to update. Jeanette sat out the Pan American Games and U.S. Classic in order to work on her skills for Nationals and Worlds. The August/September issue of International Gymnast featured a two-page profile on Jeanette. Jeanette added many new, stunning skills, and was ready for Nationals. Unfortunately, Jeanette sprained her neck a few days ago at practice after missing the bar and face-planting on a layout Jaeger. She will probably not be able to compete at Nationals, but there's a chance she can petition into World Trials if she's healthy.

Sorry we haven't updated in sooooo long....but there's lots of news. First of all, Jeanette's gym, SCAT's, hosted the 1999 American Classic. Jeanette had a great meet, placing 4th all-around and qualifying for the Pan Am Games along with Vanessa Atler, Jennie Thompson, Jamie Dantzscher, Alyssa Beckerman, and Erinn Dooley. Jeanette also placed an awesome 5th all-around in the American Cup prelims, put did not advance to the finals due to the 2-per-country rule. In placing 5th, she beat the likes of worlds competitor Lui Xuan, and world bronze medalists Elena Produnova and Ludivine Furnon! She also competed in the mixed pairs meet following the American Cup, and placed 4th with teammates Natalie Lacuesta and Jason Gatson. Jeanette skipped the International Team Championships to focus on her training, and hopes to debut a new floor routine at her next meet! Also, she and the other national team members spent the past week at National Team Training Cap at Twistars USA in Lansing, Michigan.
