Harry Belafonte CDs with Maynard Ferguson

Recently, the MF community learned that Maynard had recorded 6 tracks backing Harry Belafonte in 1955. The CD contains 8 of Belafonte's LPs on 4 CDs, and included are the albums Belafonte (1955) and Calypso (1956). MF is heard here on the tracks Man Smart (Woman Smarter), Troubles, Matilda, Waterboy, and Scarlet Ribbons. I still find it amazing that MF was on this session! And don't forget, you get a total of 8 Belafonte LPs transcribed here on this 4-CD set.

Recently, the MF community learned that Maynard had recorded 6 tracks backing Harry Belafonte in 1955. One of those tracks made its way onto the first million-selling LP of all time -- Belafonte's Calypso from 1956! (I've got to tell you, folks, every time I learn something else spectacular like this that MF was associated with, I just have to smile!) The track that made it onto this LP was Man Smart (Woman Smarter), recorded in Los Angeles on 8/18/55. Here's that classic Calypso LP in digitally remastered CD format.

Here's the Calypso album in digitally remastered CD format, from Canada.
COPY #1. This is the first copy of this relatively rare Canadian pressing I've had on the website in a very long time. And it's a beautiful copy. It looks MINT, but to be conservative, I'll call it NMINT+. Totally complete, beautiful jewel case, beautiful inserts and disc. It's $8.00.
