Milt Bernhart LPs with Maynard Ferguson
MILT BERNHART BRASS ENSEMBLE, MODERN BRASS -- RCA Victor LPM-1123
Milt Bernhart put together an outstanding brass ensemble for this 1955 Modern Brass LP. It was recorded 3/4, 3/6, and 3/8/55. Guess he figured the guys needed a day off in between each session for their chops to mend a bit. Maynard plays the euphonium on all tracks. What a fantastic LP! Arrangers included Pete Candoli, Jimmy Guiffre, Andre Previn, Shorty Rogers, and Pete Rugolo. Tracks included The Horns, Hooray for Hollywood, Tangerine, It's All Right with Me, Save Your Chops, and several others. These LPs are incredibly hard to find, and when they do come on the market, demand a substantial premium.
COPY #1. Just in, this is the first copy of this LP I've had in some time. The cover on this one is relatively clean and nice, with just a bit of surface wear visible, front and back, and a miniscule little bump on the opening slit. It's NMINT-. The vinyl has a few very light surface scuffs, but they don't affect play. It's NMINT-, as well. Overall, a nice, solid, NMINT- copy. It's yours for $18.00.
COPY #2. COVER ONLY. The cover is quite nice, with just a tiny bit of surface wear front and back, and a dime-sized discoloration on the back where a price sticker was removed years ago. Still quite nice, it's a NMINT- cover. If you need a cover to replace a ratty one, this is the one! $3.00.
