Gary Crosby 45s with Maynard Ferguson

GARY CROSBY AND THE CHEER LEADERS WITH SONNY BURKE AND HIS ORCHESTRA, GOT MY EYES ON YOU / MAMBO IN THE MOONLIGHT -- Decca 9-29272

I had never heard about Maynard being on this disc before until I was introduced to it by the major collector who is selling off his collection on my website. He had done his homework. According to the book "The Music of Billy May" by Jack Mirtle, the track "Got My Eyes on You" was recorded 8/23/54, features vocalist Gary Crosby (Bing's son), was led by Sonny Burke and His Orchestra, and includes the following instrumentalists: Pete Candoli, Conrad Gozzo, Maynard Ferguson, Milt Bernhart, and Bud Shank. (Note the proximity date-wise to the Dinah Jams recording, which was done on 8/14/54.) It sounds a lot like some of the Vido Musso R&B tracks from that same era. The band really swings! This disc comes in both a normal black label and a pink-label DJ copy.
COPY #1. The labels on this one are the normal black variety, and they're just like new. The vinyl has a couple of light scuffs and a few very light surface scratches which can be heard a bit as background noise in places. Still, it's quite nice -- EX condition. $7.00.
COPY #2. The labels on this copy (normal black label version) are ultra clean and nice -- just like new. The vinyl has a few ultra light surface scratches. They are almost imperceptible on playback. Overall, this copy is in EX condition. Just a super little 45. $7.00.
COPY #3. The labels on this one are the normal black type. They're super clean and nice. The vinyl, however, does have quite a bit of light surface scratching. It causes some significant noise on playback. I'd rate it as just VG+ ... a hair better than average. This copy is yours for just $3.00.
COPY #4. The labels on this one are the normal black variety, and they're just like new. The vinyl has a couple of light scuffs and a few very light surface scratches which can be heard a bit as background noise in places. Still, it's quite nice -- EX condition. $7.00.
COPY #5. The labels on this one are the normal black variety, they they're super clean -- almost like new. The disc itself is EX++ to NMINT- ... super clean, with just one light scuff. This is a great copy, and is selling for $9.00.
COPY #6. The labels on this one are the normal black variety, and they're ultra clean and nice. The disc itself is NMINT- to NMINT. Really a nice copy, it's $10.00.
COPY #7. The labels on this one are the normal black variety, and they're clean and nice except that someone wrote "70" in small letters on the Mambo side. The vinyl is EX-. A decent copy, but not pristine, this one is well worth $4.00.
COPY #8. The labels on this one are the normal black variety, and they're clean and nice. The vinyl is EX-. A decent copy, this one is priced at $5.00.
COPY #9. The labels on this copy are the normal balck variety. There's a small tear on one label where a price sticker was removed. Otherwise, the labels are clean and nice. The vinyl is a clean and nice NMINT-. A really nice copy, this one is $9.00.
COPY #10. The mormal black labels on this one are super clean and nice! The disc itself os EX. A nice, solid copy, it's $7.00.
