Esquivel CDs with Maynard Ferguson

ESQUIVEL AND HIS ORCHESTRA, EXPLORING NEW SOUNDS IN HI-FI (SPANISH RELEASE) -- RCA BMG 74321478712

Maynard recorded the Exploring New Sounds in Hi-Fi (and Stereo) LP(s) with Esquivel at Webster Hall in New York on 11/24, 25, 28, 12/3, and 12/10/58, and they were released in May, 1959. See the Esquivel LP page for a full explanation. This is an extremely rare, very high quality Spanish reissue CD on the RCA BMG label from 1997. Even though it has the "Hi-Fi" title, it's the STEREO version of the recording. I've seen only a few of these CDs, and they're quite hard to find. But I've been persistent, so have some to offer.

ESQUIVEL, EXPLORING NEW SOUNDS IN STEREO / STRINGS AFLAME -- Bar None AHAON-091

Maynard recorded the Exploring New Sounds in Hi-Fi (and Stereo) LP(s) with Esquivel at Webster Hall in New York on 11/24, 25, 28, 12/3, and 12/10/58, and they were released in May, 1959. See the Esquivel LP page for a full explanation. This is a U.S. reissue CD on the Bar None label from 1997, and it also includes another Esquivel LP, entitled Strings Aflame. It's a very nice pressing, is fairly rare, and is long out-of-print. I've searched high and low in order to find enough copies to list here.
COPY #1. This copy is used, but the only flaw I can find is a tiny scuff on the disc which absolutely does not affect play. It's a clean and nice NMINT+. $17.00.
COPY #2. This copy is used, but is like new. NMINT++. $22.00.
COPY #3. This copy is used, and is like new except for a nice, clean hole punched in the backing insert through the barcode (a cut-out item). NMINT+. $15.00.
COPY #4. This copy is in very nice condition, with the only issue being a few scuffs and very light scratches on the disc. Just to be safe, I played it all the way through, and it plays perfectly, GUARANTEED! It's NMINT-. $12.00.

ESQUIVEL, ESQUIVEL! WHATCHAMACALLIT! -- Sony/BMG A680731

Here's a 2006 Esquivel compilation CD with tracks from numerous LPs, including Whatchamacallit from the Exploring New Sounds in Hi-Fi / Stereo LP. MF plays on this particular track, but not on the others on the CD. However, it's a great retrospective and will give you a good idea of what Esquivel was all about. And for MF completists, this is probably a must.
