Jack Kane LPs with Maynard Ferguson

JACK KANE, JACK KANE SALUTES THE COMICS (U.S. PRESSING - STEREO) -- Dot DLP 25143

Maynard Ferguson historian Kevin Seeley has done a lot of research on rare performances by MF, and he is convinced that MF plays on this LP, based on a statement on a television show in 1958. Jack Kane mentioned on The Jack Kane Show in Canada on 10/16/58 that he had just gotten back from New York where he had recorded two LPs with MF. Since the release of this LP dates to 1959, I'm convinced, too, that MF is on this LP. There are a couple of passages that almost certainly are him playing in the upper register. Kane was a fellow Candian, and thus it would have been natural for him to want MF performing on this LP with him. This is an exceptionally rare LP. It's Kane and his orchestra playing the theme songs from a number of major comedians, such as Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Steve Allen, the Marx Brothers, etc.
SORRY! NO COPIES AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

COPY #1. THIS IS A COVER ONLY. The LP that come in this cover was broken in shipping to me from Canada. Rats! But, the good news is that this is an absolutely wonderful cover. It's clean and nice, has zero damage, and just a little bit of toning on the back. Although it's just the cover, this one is so nice that I'm going to ask $5.00 for the cover alone. Use it as a space filler until you can get one of these rare LPs, or use it to replace a lousy cover on your own copy.
