Do NOT confuse this with the 10" LP entitled The Big Tenor and issued in the early 1950s. Instead, this is a gatefold, two-LP set issued in 1985. It contains all the tracks which were on that original Big Tenor 10" LP, plus all the recorded alternate takes! It includes Randall's Island (3 takes), Old Folks (3 takes), King's Riff (1 take), and You're My Thrill (3 takes). These tracks were all recorded 12/27/51, and included a trumpeter known as "Tiger Brown." It was quickly revealed that Mr. "Brown" was actually Maynard. When you hear the tracks, there's NO DOUBT!!!! This is a FANTASTIC 2-LP set.
COPY #1. Here's the first copy of this LP that I've been able to come up with in some time. The cover on this one is shows just a hint of surface wear, but it's still easily a NMINT cover ... very clean and nice. The vinyl is likewise a clean and nice NMINT. Really a super nice copy. COPY #3. The cover on this one is a clean and nice NMINT. The vinyl is an ultra clean, like-new, NMINT++, and is probably never-played. A super copy, it's yours for $21.00.
COPY #4. The cover on this one is an ultra clean and nice NMINT+!!! It looks like it just came out of the shrink wrap. The vinyl is in NEVER PLAYED, MINT condition!!!!! Unless it's factory sealed, you can't find one nicer. Absolutely a stunning copy. $23.00.

COPY #6. The cover on this copy is an ultra clean NMINT, with the only issue being a slight corner bend at lower right. The discs are almost certainly MINT, NEVER PLAYED!!! Beautiful! A stunning copy, priced at $20.00.

Here's the Japanese pressing of the LP above. It looks the same, but has a different label and catalog number, and, of course, the Japanese pressing is on far superior pure virgin vinyl. In my experience, this LP is 10 times as hard to find as the U.S. version.
COPY #1. Here's the first copy of this LP that I've ever had for sale on this website. The cover on this one is an ultra clean and nice NMINT+!!!! The vinyl looks like it has been played exactly once, and it's a superb, NMINT++!!!! Overall, this is an almost-new, superb copy of an ultra hard-to-find LP. Yours for $35.00.
