Switzerland defeated the Canadian team to win the gold in men's curling. The Swiss team skipped by Patrick Huerlimann easily blew away Mike Harris' rink 9-3. Norway won the bronze after defeating U.S.A. 9-4. They crushed the U.S.A. 7-1 in the semi-final. The cocky Mike Harris team came into the final over-confident against Switzerland. In the gold medal game, Switzerland was up 9-1 before Canada scored 2 in the 7th end. The Swiss team went on to defeat them 9-3 after 8 ends. Mike Harris curled an absolutely brutal 25% in the gold medal game. They finished second. Women's The Canadian team from Regina won 7-5 against Denmark to win the gold medal. Sandra Schmirler's team curled very well against Helena Blach-Larvsen's team from Denmark. Sweden's Elisabeth Gustafsson beat England 10-6 to capture the bronze.
