NEPENTHEJOURNAL
In Homer's Odyssey, Ulysses and his way-faring men are introduced to a drug called Nepenthe which induced the forgetfullness of sorrow and heartbreak.

For the contemporary traveller, however, Nepenthe can be found in anything and anywhere: In a carafe of rich red wine after a long hard day on the dusty road, in laughter and conversation with chance-met friends, in the spark and gamble of road and tavern, in the sunset of far-flung shorelines, under the dark canopies of lush rain forests, or quite simply in any act that is joyful and spirited...

It is only when we can lay down our burdens that we can truly enjoy the beauty and the wonders of the world around us.

The Nepenthe Journal is a record of my travels and observations.
