Blood Type: A
Hobbies: Drawing/Writing

Takeuchi Naoko was born on March 15, 1967 in Kofu city of the Yamanashi prefecture, Japan. She grew up there with her parents Kenji and Ikuko ( also the names used for Usagi's parents) and her brother, Shingo (also the name of Usagi's brother).

While only in middle school, Naoko began to write manga stories and her favorite school subjects were art and math and was part of both the art and astronomy club.

At age 18, still in high school, Naoko began to get serious about becoming a manga artist. In high school she wrote "Yume Ja Nai No Ne" which was later published in a compialation of her other short stories called, "Prism Time."

Naoko however did not immediately pursue a career as a manga artist after high school. She went to collage at Kyoritsu Chemical University, a phamaceutical school and majored in chemical enjineering and is to this day a liscensed phamacist. Along with her usual work load, Naoko found time to write "Love Call" which not only was published in the Nakoyoshi Delux September issue in 1986, but won Nakayoshi's New Artist Award twice.

While working as a phamacist at Keio Hospital, Naoko was able to time to write some manga works such as Maria. Eventually, she quit her job to become a full-time manga artist. Her works were published by Kodansha and her most popular series, "Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon" ran in the popular magazine, Nakayoshi.

Naoko's editor, Osabu encouraged Naoko to keep writing and not to quit. Naoko says that without Osabu, much of her manga would never have been published.

Currently, Naoko no longer writes for Nakayoshi nor does Kodansha publish any of her newer works. Recently though, Naoko wrote an autobiographical manga series called, "Princess Naoko's Return to Society Punch" which ran in Young You magazine.

As for her personal life, Naoko married a fellow manga artist, Yoshihiro Togashi on January 6, 1999 and together they published a doujinshi with Nako drawing characters from Sailormoon and Togashi drawing characters from his own manga. Along with her husband, Nako is writing "Princess and prince's Marriage Punch" which is currently running in Young You magazine.

Althouhg no one is quite sure what Naoko's next manga series will be about, it probably will have something to do with magic since that was what she was intrested in when asked by her fans.

Apart from her manga writing and drawing skills, Naoko also seems to have a knack for song writing since she wrote a lot of the songs in the Sailormoon anime. Unfortunately, this multi-talented woman is not in perfect health and has terrible allergies which have caused her to go to the hospital on umerous occassions. Fortunately though, she has a very supportive family which she visits often, but she wishes she could see more of her brother who lives in Canada.

Aside from Sailormoon, she also wrote/drew manga such as Chocolate Christmas, PQ Angels, Maria, The Cherry Project, Miss Rain, Prism Time and many others.

Takeuchi Naoko loves to get letters from her fans, especially international ones and if you'd like, you canwrite to her too! Sailormoon aefwegaehgaeyhraeytrae
