Naoko Takeuchi was born on March 15, 1967 in Kofu city in the Yamanashi prefecture. She graduated from Kyoritsu Chemical University and while she was there she wrote "Love Call" which not only was published in the Nakayoshi Delux September issue in 1986, but won Nakayoshi''s New Artist Award twice. Aside from Sailormoon, Takeuchi Naoko is rumored to be dating Yoshihiro Togashi,
the creator of Yu Yu Hukusho. She is currently living in Azubu
Juuban in Tokyo which is where Sailormoon is supposed to live.

she also wrote/drew manga such as Chocolate Christmas, PQ Angels,
Maria, The Cherry Project, Miss Rain, Prism Time and many others.
She also wrote a lot of the lyrics to some Sailormoon anime songs.
In 1991 she wrote
a story about a heroine, Codename Sailor V which was published
in Run-Run and was so popular that Sailormoon came out of that
and was published in the February issue of Nakayoshi in 1992.
