The GENERAL CONTEXT of such use is:
The term refers to that which many people rely upon and use to guide their lives as to reality, or what is, to such people, "real", even though there may be no evidence whatsoever for the reality or realities so supposedly extant. The term also refers to persons who have been "programmed", or indoctrinated, to "believe" in whatever they have been told or culturally inculcated thereinto. The term is antithetic (or the antithesis of) the term KNOWING, in which one "knows" reality and what is real as an "experience" or construct of mental function (mind process), which may or may not be evidenced by corporeal substantivity, but which is, nevertheless, real. The term also relates to the following terms (antithetically): theology of reality; truth; trust. As far as trust is concerned, a person who "believes" in something is a person who may trust that their "belief" is the "truth", whether it actually is or not. Also, in this regard, beliefs are many times Satan's means of enabling his negativity in the world, constituting a part of his Veil of Unknowing, blocking people (by and through the mechanism of beliefs) from actually KNOWING what is really the truth and discouraging trust in others and all through and by the dissentions and divisions engendered by such "beliefs". This is not to imply, however, that beliefs cannot be real, which they certainly can, but usually ONLY when based on KNOWING and the realities of truth. In such a case (or cases), "beliefs" and KNOWING do constitute the ground-state(s) of reality or realities, whether corporeal or incorporeal.
