The term refers to one of the three theories of genesis of the human race, the other two being Darwinism (and its derivatives) and Human Evolution. Creationism believes that humanity was "created" 6000 years ago; Darwinism "believes" that humanity came into existence 4 million years ago; and Human evolution KNOWS that humanity has existed prior to 3.6 BILLION years ago.
