The GENERAL CONTEXT of such use is:
The term refers to Jerome's usage, in his writings, of a style of "classical" American-English language-form, as a means of enabling all readers thereof, from 5 year-old "scientists" to seniors of 99+, to fully understand and comprehend that which Jerome writes. In such usage, Jerome has been called "pedantic" (meaning prone to excessive use of academic, scientific and intellectual words), by people who consider such use improper and ostentatious, their nominal reference being "simple" business-English. (So WHY can't one have an "intellectual" demeanor and persona, as Jerome surely does, and yet write "from the heart", for ALL AGES, as he also does, IN classical American-English, without being termed "pedantic"?)
