The term refers to one, if not the most important, of human attributes and obligations, AS and FOR an individual who is living among other individuals. It means that a person IS ANSWERABLE (the equivalent of a personal legal "obligation"), to one and all, for one's words, actions and deeds, AS A CONDITION of Life, of one's living AS a human being.
Such an "obligation" has been abrogated, abridged and practically abolished throughout our current human civilization, in that "representatives" (see the listings for "represent...(et al)"), or third-party-agents OF RESPONSIBILITY, have mostly taken over any and all "responsibility" for any and everything, leaving the individual NOT responsible, PERSONALLY and DIRECTLY, for anything that an individual may say or do.
