(Note from your Website Guru: The following comments, from a non-homeless friend and member of the community, are paraphrased here, as to the 5 points that were made by that person. Regrettably, the exact words were not able to be sent by E-Mail at the time of expression due to the lack of operable E-Mail facility access to the person, which, incidentally, was preferred. I have attempted to reconstruct those words here to the best of my recollection. I do sincerely apologize to M.H. if I may have erred in the interpretation in any way. If M.H. is able to send the original and accurate comments by E-Mail at a later date, I will certainly publish them here, in replacement of this current attempt at relating such. And I do sincerely thank M.H. for "voicing" her opinion.)(POINT 1) As a 40 yr old DWF who is raising and supporting 2 children, it has been a somewhat interesting experience recently, to have "experienced", through an acquaintance, the "culture" and lifestyles of the "homeless".
(POINT 2) It is my observation that, although such people (the homeless) may be experiencing certain difficulties and incidents in their lives, they do have the freedom of choice, and, in living the "homeless-life-style", they have made a choice to do so.
I, personally, must say that I do not agree with that choice, in that I do feel that there is certainly adequate and complete help available to the homeless in our society.
(POINT 3) I feel that the social service agencies, etc., that are available (at least from my experience), are certainly able to address and resolve any and all issues and problems of the homeless, if the homeless would but let them do so.
(POINT 4) I do also feel, however, that a "sounding board", such as this Website, is a good idea and I would like to encourage any and all of the community (homeless and non-homeless alike) to use such, to "air" and express their feelings and opinions, so that issues such as homelessness can be more fully resolved, if such is truly needed.
(POINT 5) In doing so (voicing one's opinion), I believe this Website is exploring the Pro's & Con's of homelessness, which is, to me, a bit confusing, in that I can see the Pro's & Con's of most any other issue, such as politics, but I do have a problem in seeing the "Pro's" of homelessness. As I have said, the homeless have a choice, and they have "chosen" to be homeless. But as to the "why" thereof - the "Pro's" - I do not see it. Why would anyone want to "choose" to be homeless? What are the "Pro's" - or the reasons FOR - being homeless? I cannot, personally, see any "reason", as to why a person should elect to "remain" homeless, when there is so much that society can provide to adequately alleviate such a problem.

"This website is all a bunch a crap! it is just reverse discrimination! 135+ million people, who apparently don't need money in their lives, discriminating against the rest of us who do!"
