Yattaro is the leader of the cats, but he gets his orders from Wanko no Kami. He quite an emotional little fellow, and when he get's excited, he will often use his catch phase "Teyande!" (a word that doesn't really have an English translation, but can be used as a sort of all purpose exclamation depending on the situation it's used in). He often competes with his best friend, Sukashii, for the attention of Omitsu, but he later develops feelings for Pururun. Yattaro's sword can also be used to summon the Nyangoking, although he usually has trouble getting into the giant robot.
* Based on Japanese character designs. In the English version, Speedy's statistics are given as "3 feet tall, weighs 30 pounds" in "Candid Kitties", and his height is measured as "3 feet, 8 and a half inches" in "Mission to Manhattan".
