Hand Smocking Techniques

Always wanted to learn to make those adorable hand-smocked baby outfits? Sewing for your favorite collectible dolls? This is the class for you! You will learn to stamp and hand-pleat your fabric, special embroidery stitches, and how to adapt any pattern to add smocking to it, even doll-sized patterns.

Materials list for Hand Smocking:

• Sewing machine
• Pattern with hand-smocking detail or regular pattern (for garment or craft)
• Fabric and notions to complete item, according to pattern requirements (extra fabric may be needed if using a regular pattern)
• Contrasting thread
• Embroidery floss in your color choices
• Hand-Sewing needles, embroidery or crewel
