Room Trouble Shooting

Problem
Try this...
Sound is a little dull
  • "Toe in" the speakers so that they make an equalateral triangle with the listener.
  • If they are small speakers, you can purcahse or build a stand to get the tweeter to ear level.
  • Remove any objects that may be in the way of the speaker and the path between the speaker and listener.
Sound is a little bright
  • Face the speakers so that the speakers are facing the length of the room and not "toed in".
  • Try putting a large beach towel over the speaker (just joking but it works!)
  • Move the speakers a little further apart.
Bass is too prominent
  • Move the speakers away from the side walls.
  • Move the speakers away from the back wall.
  • Try moving your listening position closer to the speakers - away from any walls.
Bass is lacking
  • Move the speakers closer to the side walls.
  • Move the speakers closer to the back wall.
  • Try moving your listening position closer to the back wall.
Still does not sound good Try moving the speakers around the room more. I still re-position my speakers from time to time.
This is an example of a typical listening position. No large objects are blocking the speakers output.
