A Little Bit of Heaven
Have you ever heard the story of how
Ireland got it's name?
I'll tell you, so you'll understand from
Whense old Ireland came,
No wonder that we're proud of that
Dear land across the sea,
For here's the way me dear old mother
Told the tale to me.
Shure, a little bit of heaven fell from
Out the sky one day,
And nestled on the ocean in a spot so far away;
And when the Angels found it,
Shure it looked so sweet and fair,
They said, "Suppose we leave it,
For it looks so peaceful there."
So they sprinkled it with star dust
To make the shamrocks grow;
'Tis the only place you'll find them
No matter where you go;
Then they dotted it with silver
To make it's lakes so grand,
And when they had it finished,
Shure they called it Ireland.
'Tis a dear old land of faeries
And of wond'rous wishing wells;
And nowhere else on God's green earth
Have they such lakes and dells!
No wonder that the Angels loved it's
Shamrock-bordered shore.
'Tis a little bit of heaven
And I love it more and more.
May love and laughter light your days
And warm your heart and home
There's an Old Irish Recipe
For Longevity.
Leave the table hungry.
Leave the bed sleepy.
Leave the tavern thirsty.
Mother
There is but one and only one,
Whose love will fail you never.
One who lives from sun to sun,
With constant fond endeavor.
There is but one and only one,
On earth there is no other.
In Heaven a noble work was done,
When God gave man a Mother.
The Reason The Irish
Are fighting each other is
They have no worthy opponents.
Irish Diplomacy
The ability to tell a man to go to hell,
So that he will look forward to making the trip.
Murphy's Law
Nothing is as easy as it looks.
Everything takes longer than you expect.
And if anything can go wrong,
It will be at the worst possible moment.
It Is Easy To Be Pleasant
It is easy to be pleasant
When life flows by like a song.
But the man worth while is the one who will smile,
When everything goes dead wrong.
For the rest of the heart is trouble,
And it always comes with years.
And the smile that is worth the praises of earth,
Is the smile that shines through tears.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the small of his hand.
May you be in heaven a full half hour
Before the Devil knows you're dead.
May the Irish Hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers Bless You.
May the Luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the Blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Get on your knees,
And...
Thank God you're on your feet.
May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.
I complained that I had no shoes,
Until.... I met a man who had no feet.
'Tis better to buy a small bouquet,
And give to your friend this very day,
Then a bushel of roses white and red,
To lay on his coffin after he's dead.
May the Good Lord
Take a liking to you,
...But not too soon.
Life is like "A Cup of Tea"
It's how you make it.
May the roof of your house
Never fall in
And those beneath it
Never fall out.
As you slide down the Banister of Life,
May the Splinters never point the wrong way.
How does one measure time?
No, not in days, months, ot years
It is measured by the most precious of all things... Love.
Without which all beings and things
Whether brave and/or beautiful would perish.
Speak to people.
There is nothing so nice as a cheerful word of greeting.
Smile at people.
It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.
Call people by name.
The sweetest music to any one's ears is the sound of their own name.
May you live long,
Die happy,
And rate a mansion in Heaven.
We cannot share a sorrow,
If we haven't grieved a while.
Nor can we feel another's joy,
Until we've learned to smile.
Ireland, Sir, for good or evil,
No other Place under Heaven,
And no man can touch its sod or breathe its air
Without becoming better or worse.
You're not as young as you used to be
But...
You're not as old as you're gonna be
...So Watch It!
Have A Good Day Always
And...
In All Ways.
Don't walk in front of me.
I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me.
I may not lead.
Walk beside me.
And just be my friend.
Do not resent growing old...
Many are denied the Priviledge.
May you have:
No frost on your Spuds.
No worms on your Cabbage.
May your goat give Plenty of Milk.
If you inherit a Donkey, may she be in foal.
I Believe in the Sun...
When it is not shining.
I believe in Love...
Even when I feel it not.
I believe in God...
Even when He is Silent.
Health and long life to you,
Land without rent to you,
A child every year to you,
If you can't go to Heaven,
May you die in Ireland.
May the Leprechauns be near you,
To spread luck along your way.
And may all the Irish Angels,
Smile on you Saint Patrick's Day.
May the saddest Day of the Future
Be no Worse...
Than the Happiest Day of your Past.
Those who bring Sunshine to the lives of Others,
Can not keep it from Themselves.
An Irishman is never drunk
As long as he can hold onto one blade of grass
And not fall off the face of the earth.
May the Blessings of Each Day,
Be the Blessings You Need Most.
An Irish Fact
If you're lucky enough to be Irish...
You're lucky enough!
Another Irish Fact
There are only two kinds of people in the world.
The Irish and those who would like to be Irish!
An Irish Situation
There comes a time when you must take the bull by the tail
And face the situation squarely.

Remember
Always remember to forget,
The things that made you sad,
But never forget to remember,
The things that made you glad.
Always remember to forget,
The friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember,
Those that have stuck by you.
Always remember to forget,
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember,
The blessings that come each day.
