For Professional Talent and Production Staff

If you are a professional actor, performer, writer, director, or have worked in production, then you must still fill out the form that applicants for the talent or production internships do. If you have professional experience, you may put a mark across "Volunteer", and submit the application. You are not required to take an internship program if you have professional experience. We will explain what counts as professional experience later in this page.

Cityscape Productions basically has three main projects:

** Introducing a national late night talk show, based on The Danny Gayle Show! (Click Here for more information) ** The new feature film, "Never say Good Luck to an Actor!" ** Upcoming Book launch All of these are part of and connected with one main project.

The whole concept of this project is the same for professional applicants as well as interns; if one or all of these projects get picked up by a network, all volunteers will be considered for a paid contract with the company. Cityscape Productions was started in 1989 by Danny Gayle and has produced a late night talk show on cable for three years, as well as other highly successful television, theatre, and radio productions for smaller markets. Now we are ready and looking to expand to a major market with our first international production.

The production is based on a team of hard working actors and production staff working together towards a common goal. The full-time committment is three months, while part-time can start at 5 hours per week. If within your time, you are unable to be offered a contract, we are happy to have you use us as a reference and in some cases we'll even find you a paid position with another company, following your committment.

At your first interview, if accepted, you will be given instruction and three basic assignments to bring to your next interview. Once those are done, you will be on staff as part-time. If you're going for a full-time position or the internship program, you'll have seven more assignments which will include two tests and one exam. These serve as a form of pre-training to your actual training course. Upon finishing the first three, you will have access to our company business plan and a private screening of The Danny Gayle Show! as well as our other projects.

If you are doing this for the experience, that is fine. Our three month internship program should be seen as 'going to school', but also working in the real world. Because some applicants are trained from scratch and progress to running a department, our full-time testing is very hard to get in, and has a high drop out rate. We recommend you do not apply for full time unless you are interested in making a career in this industry. If you do not pass the full time testing, you may still work as a part-time intern.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

to work or interned with a professional (union) company. Community theatre,
high school

For Writers: Union status is not mandatory. Your work must have been published
in a professional magazine, newspaper, or produced for professional
theatre, television or film.

For Talent: Union status is not mandatory. You must have been involved or

Once you have read all the information on this web site, we will be happy to answer your questions at (416) 221-0653. Please keep in mind that if you are calling from outside of the Toronto area, we will talk to you, but we won't return long distance calls from applicants. You will always get a reply by E-mail. We also recommend you read "Rebel Without a Crew" By Robert Rodriguez. This is a great book about a man who turned a seven thousand dollar feature film into a major motion picture. Some of the elements of this book are similar to our company, and we recommend this book to all our staff.
