"CHO" ROCO CALLS FOR ALLIANCE WITH BUSINESS SECTORBikol Reporter. A strong, vibrant and sustained economy with focus on improving relations of both the private and government sectors has been the major agreement of Naga City Mayor Sulpicio "Cho" Roco, Jr. and the officers of the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In the first ever meeting between the local chief executive and chamber officials held in July, an agreement to form a task force surfaced. The group will review existing business guidelines in the city.
Mayor Roco lauded the business group for helping the past administration in various endeavors. He also stressed that he will fulfill his election promise to have a review of the local tax code, adding that it has to be finished in three months’ time.
He also cited the strengthening of the new investment incentive code, considered by many as a very important come-on to investors that might see Naga as a potential site for investment.
The chamber is just one of the various groups that paid a courtesy call to the new mayor who assumed office last July 1, along with Vice Mayor Esteban Abonal. Roco succeeded Mayor Jesse M. Robredo who is now in the United States for a year long study at Harvard University.
