Ramblings of a Media Junkie

First off, I admit, I have a strange sense of humor. I think is has something to do with the fact that I watched Monty Python and the Meaning of Life when I was 6 years old. Maybe it's the fact that I like music from way before my time. Who knows? All I know is that people tell me I have a very strange sense of humor. According to them, it's apparently a good thing. Multimedia I think I have loved ever since high school. I was apart of a lot of the school performances behind the scenes, and spending a lot of hours with the other geeks in the multimedia lab and just tinkering. Computer animation was my favorite in high school. In 1996 I had the opportunity to participate in the Skills Canada computer animation competition in Waterloo Ontario. Unfortunately the computer refused to render, and we only came out with the bronze, but it was a fun experience nonetheless.

These days my preferred mediums are PhotoShop, and now deeply into Flash. I especially enjoy web design (when the server I am with will cooperate that is. Down with firewalls!) Also the Lingo language is starting to really intrigue me. For many hours a week I just enjoy tinkering with these programs, learning new tricks, and hopefully put a smile on someone's face.

In the workplace, I have had some experience in the multimedia industry, and I would love to start working in it full time. One of the experiences I have had was a co-op placement (Canadian equivalent to an internship) at Fred Systems. There I performed many tasks such as programming the shows to be displayed on screens at various businesses, as well as some graphics and research for possible new products. I also worked as a contractor briefly for Connectinc as a web designer. The company was quickly acquired by another, and I was no longer needed. My duties there were mainly cleaning up faulty coding in the existing WebPages, a little bit of redesigning, and a little updating.

I hope to find a full time job in the multimedia industry very soon. If you are in the Bay Area and need a multimedia geek, send me an e-mail and I will send you a resume. The reason I do not post one on my website is for privacy reasons. I am also willing to travel out of State if need be.

Currently I live in Saratoga California, but I have been around. Born a Canadian, moved to Australia for a little while, moved back to Canada, and then to the Bay Area a couple of years ago. Boy, been around.

Oh yeah, I am also the proud owner of the worlds most disproportionate dog. Basset hounds and german shepherds should never have been able to breed.
