On this page, I am going to deal with some issues that people face, in this particular session, guys. I am going to talk a little about the issue of lust and pornography. HELLO the croud says. You heard right. First of all, if you ladies would like to leave, go right ahead. But if this pertains to you, keep reading.
OK guys, lets get it out on the table. First of all lets expose a common lie that Satan uses to keep us bound with this issue. He says something to this affect. "You are alone in this. You are the only one in the world that strugles with this. You might as well just keep on going and not tell anyone about it. You'll never change. This is so shameful, you can never get help from anyone."
Did you ever hear anything of this nature go off inside your head after having fallen? I sure as heck have. Now what is Satan's purpose in saying this? To cut you off from the very thing that will set you free. The Bible says to confess your sins to one another so that you may be healed. Acountability is what its called in my church. It really will set you free. But what is the problem here? We men are so prideful and stuborn, and AFRAID of being exposed. Thats right afraid. So what are you going to do about it. . . . ?
I want to look at some of the things that the spirit of pornography does. One of the things is it cuts off a mans ability to worship!! Why do we give in to pornography? Because we are not giving our heart in passionate worship to God!! We as men are going to give our passion away to something!! The question is what. If you give it to God, the passion is filled. If not, it seeks to be filled some other way!! Pornography steps in and presents itself convieniently in your path. Like a hangmans noose that you can hang yourself with. And like it.Wierd huh!?! It also cuts off a man's authority. In giving yourself to this kind of a spirit, you give it your authority. You had the authority to tear down the stronghold, but chose to give that authority to that spirit. If your married, this dynamic is a little diferent. This spirit deaply affects your marriage, and your kids. This spirit will attach itself to your children and haunt them. I am not actually married so I'll not pretend to know how to talk to you guys that are married. But I do know what the spirit will do to your children, because I am the son of a man that fell like other men. This spirit will not relent untill you take your place and stand, where others have failed. Be a real man.
Now lest you think that I am chewing you all out, I am talking to myself as well so please don't get mad. I am just trying to expose the thing that criples most men. If you want to win the battle, stay accountable to a brother that you can trust!! Get into God's word. Stay in intimate worship with your king!! Pray without ceasing, thats in the Bible!! Want to pass down a legacy to your children that they will be proud of? Give them the gift that they might never know about, fight the battle now for them. Not that they won't have their own hormones, but the spirit won't have a claim to your family any longer. Men, lets be real men, lets be warriors in our kings army. Greater is he that is in ME than he that is in the world. We truely have a greater force on our side. Lets use his power not our own.
