Warrior's Tales

What are you looking at!?!

This is a story heard from the lips of an old warrior as he witnessed a young warrior about to go into the most important battle of his life. Listen well. . .

What I am about to tell you I heard on the feild after one of the worst battles we as the armies of the living God ever faced untill that piont in time.

Ke looked down at his arm as the blood began to harden. The wound wasn't that bad, but it could be his neck next time. He wasn't to happy right now. The enemy just kept coming stronger with each wave they sent. Their strategy was simple. Wait untill the armies of the living God were just beginning to rest and then attack again, and again, and again. Ke looked up and saw Teberah walking toward him. His commander would want a briefing on his purspective of the battle.

"Hail Ke!" Teberah's powerful greeting sent chills up Ke's spine.

"Hail." Came his not so powerful response. He often wondered why his vioce didn't carry the same weight that Teberah's did.

"How did you fair in your engagements?" Teberah could tell that they hadn't done so well.

"I just don't get it anymore. When I joined the Armies, I did great. Most of the battles I fought were so easy! Now they all seem to push me around. I haven't won a solid fight in over 6 months. I only barely come out alive!!" The discouragement was welling up in him again, he could feel it.

Teberah wondered to himself almost out loud if Ke was ready to hear what had transpired. It would probably be the only way for Ke to get the seriousness of the battles that he was loosing.

"Ke," came the serious vioce of the one who knew how hard this would be. "You have only begun the road to becoming a good warrior. Part of traveling this road for you will entail gaining a good understanding for what is really going on. The enemy that both you and I face is a diferent kind of enemy faced than has been faced ever before. He is both more fierce and more serious than he ever was. The reason for this is simple. The lord of the armies of darkness recently intercepted a message sent from the Lord of Hosts. This message stated that the time was short and that He was going to begin preparring the prise for Jesus that Jesus deserves. The reward of His suffering. Satan knows that an outpouring of the Spirit unpresidented in human history is at hand. And he is going to resest it tooth and nail!! He will poor everything he has into getting you and others like you to submit to pride, lust, and unforgiveness. Whatever he can to get your eyes off Jesus!! Ke, ubove all things you must begin to open your heart to Jesus like never before. If you don't get over these things, you will be taken prisoner. You will be led into strong delusion. You will be so controlled by the things that you strugle with that they will no longer seem like things to be destroyed. When Satan brings you to a place that you no longer realise that you are bound, then you are truely his slave!!"

Ke could only stare. He didn't know what to say. He felt the pride welling up inside telling him that didn't want to be told by Teberah that he needed to change. But something inside him cried out to become a destroyer of that which had tried to destroy him so many times. To have the ability to walk up to his foe and vanquish him without any problem. An ability he new in his heart he did not have. But these things were things harder than fighting the enemy himself.

"Why are these things so hard to destroy? The battles that I face with 12 foot demons are easier than these things you speek of Teberah."

Tebearah came with the response, "Because they are your flesh, something you don't want to be rid of. No matter what the cost sometimes. Even if that cost is yourself or someone you love. You must learn what it means to truely be crucified with Christ in order to win the battles that lie ahead. They will only get more dificult! The spirit is coming and he is already here in some sectors. But he is coming this way next. Those who are given over to the Son will be consumed by the Spirit. The Lord of hosts is asking you if when the Spirit gets here, will you be one who is consumed by him or by your enemy? Do you want to go where the Lord has said, 'This is where the fire roars, where the wind tears at your flesh, where the river rips away your secure places, and where only those with the heart to survive do so!!' In that place, that place is where you must run to. But if you do it carrying all your stuff, you will be destroyed."

Ke looked down at his arm, the blood was hard now, and he new that next time it would be his neck. He had fought enough battles to know what his limits were. And he was there. The next battle would be just a little harder if the enemy kept coming on in the same increasing levels of intensity as they had before. He would not survive.

He looked at Teberah and said, "I need some time to think and pray about this." Teberah looked at him and said, "No problem. I will be back here in 4 hours. I want to speak to you then." With that, Teberah turned and walked away. Ke needed to get away for a while and just think. He decided to take a walk in the nearby woods.

The battle had been in a narrow valley that was about half a mile wide. It streched out for about 8 miles, but the mountains on either side were formidable. The Amies of the Living God were passing through the valley, which actually was pretty high up in the mountains, to get to the pass by which they would attack the hordes of Satan on the other side of these mountains. The hordes had gotten wind of their plan however and ambushed them from the sides of the valley.Ke decided to go toward the Valley walls and find a quiet place to sit down and pray.

He had just broken past the tree line when he thought he heard something behind him. He quickly turned and crouched behind a tree. He looked from behind the tree and saw nothing. Ke wasn't exactically sure if he even heard anything but he wanted to be sure. He waited about 5 minutes and decided that it was nothing and went on.

He was walking up a ravine in the side of the mountain when the ravine turned into a little out cropping from the side of the mountain. The tree were thick but he could hear a water fall about a hundred yards away. The river from the falls was flowing just past he feet. He walked forward a little more and found the perfect place to sit and pray a while. It only took him a hour to get there so he would pray for an hour or two then head back. The place he stopped was in a small clearing. He could just see the mist from the falls through the trees. There had been a tree fall into the middle of the clearing and it made the perfect resting place for him to sit and Pray.

He started to pray about all the things that Teberah had talked to him about. He knew that Teberah was right but he needed to get into the preasence of God to hear his voice. He started to pray and loose track of time. . .

What was that!?! Ke heard the same noise he heard when he entered the forest. This time it was louder though, and steady. It was coming from the direction of the falls

It sound like some kind of animal, yet, not random like an animal. Before he knew it, the waterfall slowly, sirealistically, took the form of some kind of beast. Ke knew that this was a bad thing, that he was unprotected out here by himself. Without his friends he was vulnerable. He didn't think that the enemy was smart enough to single someone out to be attacked. And yet, here stood an extremely large, powerful demon. The demon took a step toward Ke. It had very large, muscular legs, a broad, ripling chest, and enough battle scars to tell Ke that this one was the wrong one to mess with. The demon spoke, in the most repulsive, raspy tone, calling out Ke's name.

"Ke, I can smell your fear, and I know that you are alone. I am not here to kill you, that will come later. I am merely here to inform you that the army you are about to face is one of deathly porportions. I surmised by the stench that I can smell in your preasence, that you are wounded, and that you are discouraged." A deep, forboading chukle gurgled out of his throat. "This will be your one warning, if you personally choose to continue, I will personally vanquish you!!"

Ke felt indignant and very angry that this demon would confront him, and tell him to quit, and tuck tail and run. Yet he felt no urge to stand up and put thhis monster in his place. He knew instantly that this was what Teberah was talking about. The apathy, the pride, the intimidation, they where all eating away at his confidence, and his ability to stand up as some kind of functional member of the Armies of the Living God. He would either stand up now and tell this demon what he could do, and where he could go, or he would never have the faith in God, or the confidense in himself to fight any real wars.

There will be more very shortly!!
