USS Constitution (Wood and Metal)

Back in 1985, I was given this model as a birthday gift. While I built the plastic version of this ship when I was about 13, I had never attempted a wooden ship model. As the many pages of instructions were intimidating, I bought a “how to” book for wooden ship model building. I enthusiastically started building the model but after about 20 hours, I discovered a problem with the metal canon port holes (they stick out too far). So after 34 hours, I decided to put the model away until I retired and had more time to deal with it.

I retired in 2007 and eleven years later I decided that I’m no longer up for the challenge of finishing the model so I sold it on eBay and shipped it off. Hopefully the buyer will complete the model but it’s out of my hands now.
